Tucked on the coast, the Oasis Canoa couldnt have a more idyllic location if it tried. Think gently swaying coconut palms. Translucent turquoise seas. And brilliant white sands. Now picture yourself there, shades on, a sarong tied around your waist as you kick off your flip flops and sink your toes into eiderdown-soft sand. Just wonderful. Sunshine aside, theres plenty going on down on the beach to keep you entertained, too. Kayaks, windsurfing, snorkelling - theres so much to choose from.
And that goes for dining as well. Pile your plate at the La Piragua buffet, sink your teeth into a flame-grilled steak at the Santa Fe grill and sprinkle parmesan on a steaming plate of spaghetti at the Rigolleto Pasta Club. And if youre worried about the calories, join in with some of the activities on offer from badminton to yoga, volleyball to the gym, theres lots of ways to stay in shape.
If all that sounds a bit too much like hard work, make a beeline for the pool. Cocooned by palm trees and surrounded by thatched roofed bars, the lagoon-like pool is a tropical oasis of calm perfect for some lazy days in the sun. Simply pull up a lounger, unfurl a towel and settle back for some quality chill out time. So facilities and location-wise, this hotel gets a big tick.
But what about the accommodation? Built in little bungalow blocks and speckled with garden villas, it looks a bit like an Indian village. And inside, the rooms boast king-size beds or two doubles and are kitted out with all mod cons like coffee-making facilities, satellite TVs and fridges.
