In 1867 boxing underwent some important changes. Gloves had to be
worn, scoring was limited to three minute rounds and the referee had
full control. As it was the eighth Marquis of Queensbury that played a
key role in these changes the first World Championship in 1884 was held
under 'Queensbury Rules'. This DVD shows some of the best boxing bouts
